Maersk joins the Open Invention Network community

DURHAM, NC, March 29, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Open Invention Network (OIN), the organization created to protect open source software (OSS) and the largest patent non-aggression community in history, today announced that AP Møller – Mærsk A/S (Maersk) has joined as a community member. Maersk is one of the leading integrated container logistics companies and the world leader in shipping services, operating in more than 130 countries. As an open source user, Maersk sees OSS as an enabler of advanced supply chain management platforms.

The ISO community practices patent non-aggression in the Linux kernel and adjacent open source technologies by cross-licensing Linux system patents on a royalty-free basis. Patents held by Open Invention Network are also licensed royalty-free to any organization that agrees not to enforce its patents against the Linux system.
